lots of things

Last week was our family vacation. We went to Lake Powell with friends. Kate did so good. It was very hot so to keep her cool we sprayed her down with spray bottle all day long. We also bought a little battery powered fan so together that worked really well to keep her cool. There was 23 people on the boat. She was entertained all day long. We took her swimming in her life jacket and she really liked it. Nightly we would soap her up and take a dip for her bath. She ate really well and naps, well we figured out the ski boat was a good place to go to be rocked asleep. It was so fun for the three of us to be together all week.

Kate will be one soon.(7/26/08) Wow the time goes so fast. I feel like it was yesterday that we got a visit from the case workers telling us we had been chosen to be her parents. Kate is talking more. She says ball, hi and mom. Our favorite is something sounding like deder deder. She smiles all of the time. She knows peeka boo and can wave. She loves to cruise around on things and is standing for a few seconds on her own. I think she will be walking really soon. She is really attached to three things, a bunny, a bear, and her blanket. She always has to have them with her when she just wakes up. It is funny to change her diaper with her holding all three.

At church Sunday she kept seeing the friends we went to Powell with and waving hello and talking really loud. It was so cute. She is loved by our ward. She will also stick her tongue out and touch her chin. That cracks everyone up.

Kate's one year Dr. Apt is on the 28th and I will put her stats up after. She is getting taller and I think weighs about 20 pounds.
She makes us laugh all of the time. Gets into everything and Troy's favorite is that she points to everything and wants to know what it is. We are so lucky to have such a good and happy little girl.

Photo shoot and swimming
Today while we were outside Kate stood and balanced by herself for the very first time. It was for maybe 5 seconds. She is so fast crawling now I can't turn my head before she has moved and into the next fun thing.
We are going camping Monday. It will be our first time with Kate. We bought a huge tent for all of us to fit into. I hope she likes camping. There is a lake there and I hope its not too cold for her. (just in case we will bring her pool for the beach) I will post pictures when we get back.

I can't remember if I already posted this pic.
Kate loves to swim a lot, well splash in the pool. She cries when I take her out of her bath. She really likes the water.
These were taken by my neighbor who is a professional photographer. They turned out so cute.

New Teeth and Crawling
Kate has figured out she can crawl. She has been able to for some time but wouldn't do it. she would go two little crawls then go on her tummy. While at my aunts the other day she cralwed over to a toy. Ever since then she is tearing around the house. She is into everything. Its so fun to watch her discover, open and get into everything. She is also getting 6 teeth in at the same time. 2 have broken the gums and there are 4 others waiting to come down anytime. The funny thing is the one tooth on top that has come down is not the one you would expect. I am calling her scraggle tooth because it is one of the outside incisors. She makes a lot of funny faces. hopefully I will be able to capture some on camera.

9 months

My head is in the 97%, weight 39%, height 51%.
Dr says I am normal and healthy.
I can scoot backward now when on the floor. The other day I got myself entangled in the laundry wood rack.
